Organizational Involvement
Pre-Optometry Professional Society
The purpose of POPS is to offer pre-optometry students the opportunity to obtain firsthand experience with providing eye-related services to communities in Beaumont and neighboring cities. POPS educates its members about the profession of optometry and the requirements for admission to professional programs and thereby assists members in becoming successful applicants to the optometry school/college of their choice. POPS shall strive to promote fellowship, provide opportunities for leadership, and perform community service.
Honors Student Association
The Honors Student Association is an organization available to Lamar University Honors students. HSA promotes and encourages both campus and community-wide involvement to ensure well-rounded development of students. In addition to character-building activities, HSA holds social events that serve as a means of meeting and interacting with new people.
College of Business Student Advisory Council
The Student Advisory Council is a prestigious organization that is comprised of selected students to serve as advisers for the Dean of the College of Business.
LU Now
LU Now is a small group of selected students that work to improve Lamar University's social media presence. From Facebook Live videos to Snapchat Stories, LU Now covers all platforms of social media to advertise LU and inform students of upcoming events. I primarily use my camera to capture still photos at various events.
Business Society
The Business Society is student organization that pairs College of Business freshmen and sophomores with juniors and seniors. The juniors and seniors act as mentors for the freshmen and sophomores, providing any necessary information and advice to newer students.
Lamar University
Ambassadors
The Lamar University Ambassadors Program selects qualified students to represent the university at professional and recreational events, while providing its members with professional development opportunities.
